Souvenir plate
A German made ceramic/porcelain plate by porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal from Selb, Bavaria, Germany. The Rosenthal porcelain manufacturer has enjoyed a long history of making highly decorative porcelain pieces, also as souvenirs for the US soldiers. This is not a modern copy or a reproduction, it dates from World War Two and was brought back from Germany by a GI of the 9th Armored Division. The Rosenthal mark is from 1944, the 9th Armored Division is most likely added at a later date, probably during the ocupation period just after WWII. |
